Title: Message
It looks like the Elgin run is off for the weekend of Western Days.  If you want to do it the weekend she suggests someone else will have ot arrange as I'll be out of town.

Well Ed,
I only talked with you on the phone Saturday, May 1 but I feel like I know you after seeing your web page.  I hope your poor dog Portia is able to have good days.  I had a dog, Molly, three years ago that died  of Liver cancer.  She was the best dog I ever had and I still miss her.  But, her last three months were very good months.  She got all of the attention and love she deserved.  I took her to A&M university and they were able to help her live a more comfortable life with medication.
I also know that you are about to get married.  Congratulations!

Now, to business.  When I last talked to you, you were going to check with your board about insurance for the two days you were going to exhibit at the museum.  We are presently working on getting insurance by forming a group with other museums to share the cost but that will take at least 6 months to get that operational.  I have looked briefly at the railroad layouts you have and I am very impressed and cannot wait to have your exhibit!
But, Western Days week-end is not going to work out for us.  As I told you, I am having a fundraiser at my house for the museum that week-end and many of our members are involved in other Western Days activities so we will be spread very thin that week-end.  We are a pretty small group. Also, it is a little late to get this printed in the Western Days brochures, etc.  All Western Day activities, except the parade, are not downtown -they are at another park.  So after the parade most people leave the downtown area.
A good date for the museum would be the weekend of July 17 & 18.  But, I do not know how that would work for you.
Please let me know what your ideas are.  And, again I am very excited about your exhibit.
