Open House - Thanks for coming!
I had a blast having the open house this past weekend. Thanks go out to everyone who helped make it a success.
Thanks to Bob Stetner who tried to make in in from Chicago, but the airlines didn't cooperate. We'll have to set aside another day to run trains.
Thanks to my new friends like Jim Duda, his wife, Karen, and Bob Nelson who I had met before, but not really gotten to talk to.
Thanks again to everyone who brought something to run (never had NTC equipment on my layout before), people who added onto my layout (possesion is nine tenths :-) ), and those who just came to have fun. I really enjoy spending time just talking with my train friends.
Thanks to those who have offered to help me with the layout in the future I would love to have you come over and help. (Bob Miller - I have checked the tank spacing and will get in touch with you.)
Thanks to Adrian, who has spent many hours helping me work on my layout already.
Thanks to Julie for helping me get ready and for supporting my hobby and looking forward to enjoying it with me in the future.
If you are interested in what's next:
- Make a special wiring adaptor for the transfer table add-on
- Wire up some more turnouts and sidings for power
- complete my rudimentary control panel
- pour a lake and work on oil tank scenery
- design an additional 12" add-on to the front of the layout for passenger trains and a station.
I'll put some pictures up from the open house later this week.
