RE: Module Information Please

My 100 watt soldering gun is just barely able to do it, a 150 watt would probably be perfect.  It is that the rail acts like a heat sink pulling all the heat away from where you want to solder.  If you have the blackened center rail the solder will not stick to the blackening so you will need to sand through that stuff where you want to solder too.

It usually isn't that bad, you just have to be patient and wait a while until the rail is hot enough.

Adrian,

Thanks.  I knew I had read the spec, but for some reason I couls not locate it.

Thanks for the tip about soldering before mounting the track.  I think that's my biggest challenge.  I have two rather low wattage soldering irons.  I suspect I will have some trouble getting enough heat onto the rail.  Does anyone know just how big an iron is needed?  I have a propane torch, but I fear the rail will discolor if I'm not careful with the flame.
