Here is a summary of the Board meeting today.

ELECTIONS
It is time for this years election. Only one board member term is up
this year. WE will cast votes at the fun run. The ballots will be
counted on Sun. 3 individuals have consented to be on the Board. This
is a three year term, as usual. Please vote for one of the following.
If you want to email me directly, using my individual address
sc.smiley@juno.com, you may do so to cast your vote. Especially those
that will not make the run.

Ron Fiebelkorn
Rick Dolifka
Bob Stettner

PROJECTS
We have a short list of things to accomplish this year. Please volunteer
for some of the following. We need someone to head these things up so
that they do get accomplished.

Buy 2 more tires for the trailer
Buy skirts for the trailer to cover the tires when it is sitting in the
lot.
Repair the track on one of the older corners
Build a pair of new replacement corner modules
Lower the switches on the siding switch modules.

SCHEDULE

See the web page of the latest dates. We will change the Dec. fun run to
Sat. Sun. instead of Fri. Sat. If you have not been to the layout at
the Railyard let me know if you need instructions on how to get there.
we will have one more gathering before Christmas on Dec. 20th. Check web
for hours. There are several members using the layout periodically so
join them as you can. Post the times you plan to be there that is not a
club run so others can join you.

Be sure to post your participation for the activities on the Web site
Show Coordination documents. this helps the coordinator greatly.

Show Coordinators. We need volunteers to coordinate this years shows.
See list below and pick one for you to take care of the arrangements. We
need to spread around this responsibility so it is not overwhelming to
any one.

Jan. GATS - ED
Feb. SAMRA - Ron
Mar. BCE/Railyard? - ?
April New Braunfels - ?
May - ?
June - GATS - Scott
July - ?
Aug. - Burnet? - ?
Sept. - Temple ? - ?
Oct. - AMRE/ Flatonia -?
Nov. - Austin ? - ?
Dec. ? -?

Takedown of the layout is now set for Jan. 4 at 2:30PM. Please plan to
attend. We will get a show document prepared for this so we can know if
we will have sufficient manpower for that date and how to address the
trailer. This will get us ready for GATS the next weekend.

We do not expect to set up again at the Railyard, if available, until
after the SAMRA show and if still there move the Mar. run to this
location. this assumes that the space is available and that all want us
to be back there.

GATS LAYOUT
We are planning a 3 x 8 layout at GATS with scenery and accessories all
the way around the layout. Bring your long trains since we will have a
long straight away. Let the show coordinator know if you plan to being
accessory modules. Layout planning is currently underway.

DUES
2004 dues is now due for the members. New joiners in late 2003 are
already paid for 2004. Please mail to Scott at 4316 Shadow Oak Ln.
Austin, TX 78746 or bring to the Dec. runs or GATS. after that it will
be late.

MEMBERSHIP
Membership is up to over 20 right now. this is great. Hope to see the
remote members at one of the up coming activities. New members, you have
an obligation to the club for two things this year. One be a FAT
Controller at a run. See web site for description(this is not he show
coordinator) and to either build a new module or do a project for the
club, like refurbish an existing module. The Board will decide the
project so let one of us know your desire.

We have granted Craig Berry a special position with the Club due to his
work on establishing the Railyard location for us. We will identify
him/store as a Sponsor of our club and allow him to post a sign at our
layout for the next few runs, or more if we are able to continue the
layout set up at the Railyard.

ACCOUNT
We currently have about $872 in the bank. So if you need reimbursement
for a trailer towing, please get it into the treasurer soon.

RAFFLE
We are planning on having a raffle at GATS in Jan. this has been a good
money maker to us thanks to Lorraine.
