Re: March 2003 Fun Run
There was a lot of lost time too when we setup the club siding modules for the
first time. Remember, we had a cab-1 controlled device to route power to the
sidings. And we ended up simplifying things to make it easier (thanks to Ira's
control panel). So there will probably been some "churn" on our MTH/DCS/TMCC
integration until we get it just right. At least I hope so. I didn't have
much success with DCS this weekend. I think we are on the bleeding edge of
this technology...
I'm still gonna gently push back on Ira's recommendation to keep track 2 in
command mode. Prior to MTH/DCS usage, the club decided to never put the TPCs
in command mode because folks running conventional mode had problems with boost
powering up to full voltage unexpectedly. We recommended in at least 2
seperate newsletter articles that the club always run in conventional mode.
For command control users, simply dial up power to full and address your
engine. Conventional users do what they always do. No need to know whether a
track was in conventional or command. It was safer for those who didn't want
to fuss with all this command control. Perhaps we need to strive to keep the
simplicity for conventional users?
But I'll shut up now...
:-}
