We have room for a 4 x 3 layout at the AMRE show (unless they give us more space like they did last year). I am planning on setting up a 4 x 3 L-shaped layout. (I made the crossover cables for the inside corner.) This gives us 10 standard module places (the other 4 module places are taken up by the L). I am planning on using the 4 spots on one edge for the switching yard and the 3 spots on the adjacent edge for Scott's accessory modules (i.e. barrel loader, accessories, and Coke). That leave 3 modules (2 ABCD and 1 transition) for other accessories. I would like to use Adrian's and Scott's city scenes behind the ABCD modules and my carnival rides behind the transition module. If they give us more space we could use more scenery modules. If they extend the length so we can build a 5 x 3 or 4, we gain one more ABCD module, for which I would like to use another city scene (if I remember correctly, either Adrian or Scott has a second city scene module). If they extend the width so we can build a 4 or 5 x 4, we gain two modules, either ABCD or ABCE. In this case, I would like to use Adrian's two oil field modules (on opposite edges of the layout). See the attached proposed layout diagrams. If we end up with a 5 x 3, just think of the 5 x 4 layout without the oil field modules. Please feel free to send me suggestions or comments. Nothing is cast in concrete until we actually set up at the show. We obviously won't know until we set up on Friday how much space we will have. Right now, I would like to count on Scott for his three accessory modules and one city scene and Adrian for one city scene. If we get more space, we can add the additional scenery modules on Saturday morning. Please let me know if this sound OK to everyone. Additionally, I purchased an MTH DCS system for the club. I will bring it to the show. If all of the connections we need are in the top power box (like I suspect), we can set it up and try it out. If anyone has any MTH ProtoSound 2.0 engines, bring them along and we can see how they run on this setup. I will only connect the DCS system if it looks like it will be easy (and quick) to back it out in case something goes wrong. See you next week. Ira
