I'm all for more hi-rail realism on our layout. This includes sky-boards.
But I agree it's hard to see anything.

I like this idea. Maybe even just 5 or 6 inches would do it. I think it
won't affect crawling under since we're already forced to get down on knees
to get in. As long as we don't make this worse.
What about "standards"? I don't think we'll ever try to plug into other
clubs' modules, but I think we sort of adhere to a standard, and lowering it
would definitely break this.
Are we higher than other modular clubs? I never compared this. Seems that
I've seen HO modulars that were much lower.
BTW: I don't mind being outside when I'm operating. It's definitely a
better view!
