Re: GATS Is Back - Update
Thanks to everyone who responded to the original e-mail. I think only two
or three members haven't responded yet so everything is starting to take
shape for the GAT show next week-end. I'll send out another update Sunday
or Monday with more details but right now we still need:
1.) someone to take the trailer from the BCE club house to Scott's house.
Ed will be towing the trailer to the show Friday afternoon and works only a
few miles from Scott's house. If we can get the trailer to Scott's before
noon Friday, Ed can get to the show a lot earlier.
2.) Ira has volunteered to be the FAT controller for the Friday night set up
but we're still looking for volunteers for Saturday and Sunday. We'll
probably have two shifts each day - from 11-2 and from 2-5. The main duty
of the controller is to keep trains on the track and have everyone sign up
for a run time when they arrive at the show.
3.) We still need one volunteer to give a demo on Saturday on how to clean
up an old engine. This doesn't have to be a formal presentation. Normally
the demos are held next to our layout and in the past we've usually had just
a couple of people attend them (if that many).
4.) GATS will be giving us 4 tables to use during the show. We'll see if we
can get more from them if we need them but usually the Live Oak people
charge GATS for each table that is used. So GATS may not be willing to give
us any more. It looks like we will have approximately 8 members running
trains each day but everyone will probably not be there at the same time.
If you think you will need some more table space you may want to bring a
small folding table with you.
Thanks--Ron
