Re: Corner Modules/Other To Do Items

I think this works although will have the decks off set.  The 054 s imbedded between 072 may not be a problem anyway.  the specs tried to keep tracks 1 and 2 as the "clear tracks".  The wiring will decide which way the L will be used.  The other option would not be available unless the plugs were not used for that set up (not a real good scenario though)  We could jump across this if we want to set it up the other way from the wired solution.

I like it and see no reason to defer the construction of the corners.
The corner construction team can decide how to do the alternate wiring.  I guess we will learn if a 35 car train would go around 054 if we set it up for that option and could change the wires if a problem.  054 was not available when the rules were written.

Wait a minute, I think we are spinning our wheels over nothing.

Here is the proposed corner curve "plan".  (In practice we may find it is slightly different)

If we run to the bend in the "L" as an "ABCD" configuration then the corner can be set to use the inside four or outside four tracks of the five on the corner.  If we use the outside four then the nominal "E" track would be left unused.
Track #1 would use the nominal "D" line of all O72.
Track #2 would use the nominal "C" line
Track #3 would use the nominal "B" line
Track #4 would use the nominal "A" line.

The smallest diameter used would still be O72 IF we go into the inside corner as an "ABCD" configuration.

I have the dimensions at home, but they aren't much bigger than the current corners.  I think the main factor for weight would be in the decision to use thicker plywood on future modules.

If we dropped the "D" line than the "E" line could be all O72

Just a point about this track configuration.  If we turn it around fro an L, then Track 1 would have the 72,54,54,72 radii.  It would only be if we went for an L configuration.

I hope this does not get too heavy to carry?

Ed, what are the board dimensions?
