Re: January Work Days
I can be there any time on Friday and Saturday.
I wouldn't mind coming in sometime Friday afternoon to help set up and start tracing the power problems
on our modules. However, I know that most of us work, so that might not be practical.
On Saturday, I can come as early as other people can be there (10:00 AM is OK with me) and stay
all afternoon if necessary.
In my opinion, the first thing we have to do is find out what is causing our power problem. We should
set up all of the modules (without bridge tracks), connect the cables, and check the voltages on each
module. We should probably have some lighted cars on the tracks to cause a power drain when we
are checking the modules. If we only connect the power cables from one side of the power module
and don't connect the cross-layout cable, we will have a single power line running from the power module
all around the layout. We should be able to see where there is a significant power drop. After this
test, we should disconnect all of the cables, add in the bridge tracks, and repeat the process. This will
tell us where we are losing power through the bridge tracks.
Happy New Year to all! I am looking forward to seeing you all again and doing a run in February.
