Upcoming Events

Here's the latest information on our events on October 26, 27, & 28.

Flatonia Czhilispiel

Jim will tow the trailer to the Flatonia Convention Center on Friday, October 26 and the plans are for everyone to meet there at 2:00pm to set up the layout.   We are suppose to have an area approximately 38' x 29', which includes the area for the aisles between the layouts.  Chairs and table will be furnished.

We'll be running trains on Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm.  Adrian will be the FAT Controller on Friday, Steve on Saturday, and Ira on Sunday.   Jim will tow the trailer back to Austin Sunday night.

We will hold another raffle at this event.  Steve has purchased a Lionel Construction Zone Set, which we will use for the first place raffle prize.  We will also have a hard bound book on the history of Lehmann Toys (a $25.00 value) and TTAT club memberships.  Raffle tickets are priced at $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.  The winning tickets will be drawn around 4:30 on Sunday and the winner need not be present to win.  We discovered at the last event that most people will buy a raffle ticket once they are aware of the raffle.  If you see someone viewing our layout, ask them if they are aware of the raffle and if they have bought a ticket.  Hopefully we'll make a few dollars,  be able to promote the club, and maybe recruit a couple of new members.

Bob has received passes from the Czhilispiel committedd and it sounds like you will need passes to get into the convention center area even on Friday night.  If you plan on going to this event and don't have a pass yet, contact Bob (bostet.aol.com or 263-3320).

Austin Jamboree
Saturday, October 27, Bob, Rick, Ricky, and Scott will set up the 4x8 layout at the First United Methodist Church, which is located at 1004 N. Mays Street in Round Rock.  The show will be open form 8am to 2pm.  The layout will be in the middle of the raised area, which they refer to as the 'alter' area.  Besides running some trains, we'll be promoting the club, handing out information about the club, and hopefully recruiting some new members.

This will be a busy week-end for the club.  If you can, try and make it to Flatonia.  It looks like we will be able to set up a large layout, be able to run a lot of trains,  and there are also a lot of events scheduled at Czhilispiel.  Check out their web site www.flatonia-tx.com for more information.  There's also a link to it from the club's web site www.trainweb.org/ttat

See you next week-end.
