Re: Corners (was Re: Flatonia)

Jim,

There are several sixes available for larger curves including O80 and O96.
The other problem is that while you used O72 track to build those corners it is understood that they were cut and bent so that they are anything but O72 at this time.  My proposition was to build new modules without the bending of the track.  You can ask Scott for more details as he was a big help in sorting out plans for potential new corners.
As for as power is concerned, I looked over the solders and wires pretty well in Burnet and found nothing wrong.  I think it is dirty track and Scot suspects a power leak through the ballast.

I suggest  that we get 20 passes as usural for the whole time and it
would be nice if the passes are mailed to the show chair to arrive a week
before the event so we can make distribution.

4 tables is not enough space to assemble large  trains . we need 6
tables and a big enough layout to give us working space in the infield.
what size space has been  agreed to ?

IT TAKES 6 PEOPLE TO RUN THE MODULE LAYOUY SAFELY. TWO OTHERS OFF DUTY
TO MAKE PURCHASES AND ONE EATING.

NO ONE HAS IDENTIFIED THE VD PROBLEMS THUS FAR.
I WOULD SUGGEST THAT ALL TRACK SOLDER JOINTS BE REDONE WITH A LARGER
SWEAT DEPOSIT AND ANY TRACK WHICH DOES NOT HAVE 3 RAILS SOLDERED BE
SOLDERED WITH 1" OF STRANDED CU WIRE TO INCREASE THE CONDUCTIVE THRU THE
JOINT..

WHEN ANY TRACK HAS  ALL 3 SOLDERED JOINTS CRACKED, THE TRACK SHOULD BE
RAISED UP ENOUGH TO REPLACE THE OLD PINS WITH NEW PINS  BEFORE REPAIRING
THE SOLDIERED CONNECTIONS

THE SOLDERED CONNECTIONS WHICH BRIING THE POWER TO THE TRACKS  SHOUILD BE
RESOLDERED

THESE ITEMS HAVE ONLY LABOR AND THE SOLDIER I DONATED. ( NO COST FOR THE
CLUB ).

IF THE VD IS STILL OUT OF CONTROL,  NEW TRACK WOULD BE A LOGICIAL STEP TO
UNDERTAKE. ED MENTIONED LARGER RADIUS IN HIS COMMENTS. THE NEXT SIZE
LARGER TRACK OF THE SAME TYPE PRESENTLY ON THE CORNERS IS 120'  K- LINE
AND THAT WOULD REQUIRE NEW GEOMETRICS.

Bye,    bj.1
