Re: Proposed Layout for SAMRA Model Railroad Jamboree

Scott and I looked at both the 2012 and the 2013 layouts.  They are both exactly the
same size and shape.

The 2012 layout has some advantages:

1. We can use Scott’s three-in-a-row scenes (Coke, barrel loader, accessories)
2. We can use Scott’s Harry Potter scene
3. We can use Scott’s city scene

It also has a couple of disadvantages:

1. We can’t use the industrial sidings (D10, S1, S2).  (There is really no scenery
which must be on these modules – they could be on a triangle on one of the
    corners)
2. Rick/Ricky’s city scene can’t extend across the entire top of the layout -
We can put the triangles and a rectangular module behind the 45 degree
modules in the upper left corner to extend the city and/or woods to the upper left

This is a relatively small layout (scenery-wise) because it is L-shaped.  We
have to share the available modules.  The interior sidings won’t fit so Scott
volunteered to bring some of his other scenery modules.

I will look at the layout again later today and see what I can do to expand
Rick/Ricky’s city a little more.

Please feel free to make any other comments or suggestions about the proposed
layout.

Thanks.
