Re: Old trains

Looking closely at the picture it appears to be "reversed" like a mirror image because the lettering on the train cars is reversed.  Several of the cars and the engine are marked "American Flyer Lines."  So, I think the set is American Flyer S guage.  The two rail track further backs this.

If this is correct, the set can be run with an American Flyer transformer.  Someone else will have to chime in with specifics on these transformers.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
My mother in law gave my 4 year old a box of old trains and tracks. He is now he is curios as to how they work. We only have tracks and trains, no electric components. Is there somewhere in Austin I could take him to see these in action. I'm also trying to explain that these are not toys for small children.
Thank you!

Hey Kelly, I'm not sure if that is a O gauge train or not.  Perhaps someone in the club knows (I've CCed our general club membership)? Our club runs O gauge 3-rail trains, so your train won't run on that as the track shown is 2 rail.

Cheers,

Steve.
