TTAT Board of Directors Election

Hi,

The Tinplate Trackers of Austin Texas (TTAT) is managed by a Board of Directors
which consists of five (5) Members. Each Board Member is elected to a three (3) year
term and the terms are staggered (i.e. two are elected in one year, two in the next
year, and one in the following year). When a Board Member's term is expired, he is
made an Advisor to the Board for a year to allow the new Board Member(s)
to profit from his expertise. This year, one Board Member's term expires
and we are electing a new Member at the Annual Meeting. (The actual
positions on the Board of Directors are decided at the first Board of Directors
Meeting following the election.)

I am announcing my candidacy for the Board Member position to be filled
at this Sunday's Annual Meeting.

I have been a member of the club since 2001. I have previously served on the
Board of Directors. For the past couple of years I have attended the Board
of Directors Meetings as a visitor, participating in discussions and giving my
advise. Even though I have not been a member of the Board of Directors I
have provided guidance to the Board in several issues. For example, when
the Board of Directors approved the project to construct a new buss structure
for the club layout, there was no concrete plan on how to construct the buss
or the connections to the modules (i.e. the type of wire to use, the
connectors to be used between the buss segments, and the connectors to
be used to connect the modules to the buss). I investigated the available
components, using clues provided by Scott and Mike, and provided the Board
with a concrete proposal. I also volunteered to construct the buss cable
myself. This project is nearing completion. I constructed the buss cable
segments and, while the layout was set up downtown for last year's
holiday season, wired some of the corners to prove the workability of
the system. During the past several months we used several work days to
remove the old wiring and attach the pigtails to the club modules (we will
complete this effort at the next work day). The new buss structure will be the
only source of power at the upcoming San Antonio Train Show.

I have also have been providing many small services for the club. For example,
I have been ensuring that we have an ample supply of batteries for our
handheld controllers and have been printing the club brochures which we
give away at train meets. I built the red power cart and the Power Monitor
panel and am currently rebuilding it on a larger cart.

Please vote for me at this Sunday's election.

Thanks.
