Thanks, Steve! The train isn't in the original packaging, but it does have the instruction booklet, and it's identified as a 1949 Lionel Train. The electrical cords are shredded in some places, so it's not safe to plug in right now, but an electrician would probably know what to do. Thanks for the info on the train shows. Enjoy your day!
