Re: Calling All Trackers! Last Plea for help!

We have the opportunity to set up one of the largest layouts of the year.  Yet, the setup situation may be even more dismal than Rick states,  Most likely only four of us can be there by 5:30 pm when Scott arrives with the trailer.

Even if you can't make it Saturday or Sunday it would be a big help if you could come to setup.  A couple more members would make a huge difference.

The situation on Saturday morning is even worse.  One member who signed up can't make it 'til afternoon.  And another who signed up may be tied up being a vendor.  This leaves us with three full time members to run the layout from 9 am until ??? on Saturday.

I sure hope you club leaders learn a lesson from this.  In the future I hope you do NOT commit the club to attend a show until you know that enough members to make it a fun and reasonable experience (not a death march) have signed up on the Coordination Document.

In hte meantime, we who have signed up will do our best to save the club from embarrassment.  But, we sure could use your help.

This weekend's Alamo Model Engineers is nearly upon us and we still need help. So far there are only 5 people signed up for setup tomorrow night. Those same people are the only people signed up to run the whole weekend as well. We really need at least 6 people minimum to setup. This is an excellent time for some of you new members to get your hands dirty and learn just how we setup our layout.

AMRE has given us a 52 x 35 area to setup in so there is the potential to have a really nice large layout. We have an opportunity to try a new and very unique track plan this time but we need help to do it. AMRE has always been a good show for us and have always been very loyal to us and allowed us to setup every year unlike other groups like Temple who rotate us in and out every other year.

Many of the members who attend the shows regularly have said they can't make this show. Some of them have at least made arrangements to send their scenery modules down even though they cannot attend. Now, there are several though who have not stated on the website whether or not they can attend. Please let us know one way or the other. Its easier to plan things when we know where we stand, however I know how things change at the last minute. Now that its closer to the weekend some of you know your weekend plans better now and hopefully you can attend the show.

So I hope some more you can make it down and have fun playing trains with us this weekend.

Sincerely,
