Taking a Break from TTAT

Hi Trackers,

I've decided to shift my emphasis in our great hobby toward some of my long overdue projects.  So, I'm taking a break for a while from active participation in our club events.  Hope to see you all again on down the road.

The reason I bring it up is that I've been cleaning the track before the events I attend for some time now.  Someone else will now need to do this if you believe as I do that clean track makes a huge difference in how the trains run, especially the command engines.

I have been using plain old "odorless mineral spirits" from the paint section of Home Depot or Lowes. The quart size will do the layout several times.   I both apply it and wipe it off with a brand of paper towel I also got from Home Depot.  These paper towels are not your usual supermarket variety.  They come in a roll and are all but as strong as cloth and are all but lint free.  They work great and don't cost all that much more.

Odorless mineral spirits is relatively benign, but, just in case, I bought a pack of those inexpensive really thin disposable "rubber" (not really) gloves.

Rick Dolifka helped me clean track downtown during the Holiday event and knows how I chose to do it.

See ya' around,
Bill
