Hi,
This morning, several of our members got together at the Westlake Hills
Presbyterian Church and ran trains for The Gathering, an Alzheimer's
group.
We had three layouts running trains. Adrian and Mike leant us their
portable layouts (4' x 8' and 4' x 6') and trainsformers. Tucker brought
his Christmas set (and another train set) and set up a loop of Lionel
tracks on a table.
We had several vintage trains (i.e. Lionel postwar) running, as well as
some
modern trains. The people in the group seemed to be fascinated in seeing
the types of trains which they had when they were growing up.
We took a couple of breaks from running trains to talk about our
experiences
with model trains.
I want to thank Bob, Pal, Stuart, Daniel, and Tucker (and Kimberly)
for coming to this event and running their trains for this group.
I especially want to thank Bob for being the event coordinator and Ronnie
Herrington (Bob's friend) for transporting Adrian's layout to the church.
I am sure the people of The Gathering enjoyed watching our trains
as much as we did in running them.
Thanks.
Ira
