Re: Lionel O Gauge Collection - Liquidation

Bob,
One way to get an idea of what your collection is worth is to download a free Lionel database from MITRAINS.COM.  There are also people/places who will auction your stuff off over E-BAY for a percentage of the net proceeds.  If nothing else, use these sources to figure out if the auctioneer is giving you a good deal or not.  Lots of luck.  Most of us just buy with no intent to sell.  Don't know what will happen to my collection when I'm gone.  Let us know how it turns out.     Regards,

Don

A buyer/dealer with whom I have had good experiences is Charles Siegel - (321) 799-4005. He's in Florida and the East Coast gets better prices for PostWar Lionel. If you want to visit with me my # is (512) 789-1661.

To whom it may concern:

Due to health reasons I have reached the conclusion that it is necessary to liquidate my entire collection of Lionel trains, accessories, and train memorabilia.  I received my first Lionel in 1950 and have been involved with them ever since.  It always seemed once I was getting near completion of a layout we would be transferred.  It seems like it is happening for the last time.  Could you possibly recommend a means by which a liquidation may be accomplished other than by an estate sale or e-Bay (God forbid)?  Can you recommend an auctioneer who knows trains?  Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hey Bob,

I've CCed our club membership with hopes that someone can recommend an auctioneer.

Sincerely,
