Dear Allan and Lori,
Thank you for your continued membership at Congregation Beth Israel. Our congregation has grown by more than 30 families this year, due in part with the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by our member families. Yours may be a long-time Beth Israel family, or relative new comers, regardless your presence strengthens the bonds of our holy covenant. This year as in years past we grieved the loss of beloved congregants, welcomed new life, and tried to make sense of world events.
Despite the many hours devoted by our volunteers to all worship, educational and community-building initiatives and the many behind-the-scenes activities that make the congregation run, there are still hard costs that must be funded. The Board of Trustee’s recommended the Annual Commitment remain the same as last year’s, $1,950.00 per member family in recognition of the economic challenges many of our families continue to face. In reality it costs about $2,400.00 per member family to keep CBI’s doors open and that difference is covered through various fund-raising efforts.
Please be assured that Congregation Beth Israel will NEVER refuse membership to any family for financial reasons. If you are unable to give at the $1,950 level, we ask that you give at the level that you feel you can afford. For those congregants who are able, please consider making an Annual Commitment pledge above the recommended level. Your current Annual Commitment is $2400.
There are 3 methods for completing your 2010-2011 Annual Commitment Pledge:
1) Reply to this email (membership@bethisrael.org) and type in the amount of your annual commitment. Please indicate if you would like to be billed monthly, quarterly, or annually, and the billing method of your choice (e.g. auto debit* or Credit Card**). Our administrative staff will record the email in our membership management system (a confidential process), and within 7 working days you will receive an email from one of CBI’s Financial Secretaries (Eddy Eichner or Laura Corman) confirming the details of your pledge.
2) Click here for an annual commitment form and return it to the Temple office by mail or in person.
3) Call the Temple office and give your AC information to Jennifer Smith, Executive Director or Pam Hanna, Membership Services at 454-6806.
*Please consider using ACH or auto debit from your checking account. This method is less costly for CBI to process, is secure, can be cancelled at any time, and can be set to draft the payments on a convenient schedule for you.
**Should you choose to make your AC via credit card, please allow us to include a charge your credit card a 2% Administrative fee. Paying this additional 2% allows the congregation to take full advantage of your annual commitment.
