Fwd: Contact with the Lone Star Hi-Railers in DFW area

Do we have anyone in the club that intends to go to the LCCA Convention in Grapevine.  See email below.  We have been invited to see and meet the Lone Star Hi-Railers Club.  They have also asked for a response so let me know.

Thanks,

David

Hi:

I am Mike McLintock, President of the Lone Star Hi-Railers model railroad club.  We are a very active 3-rail o gauge group and we are currently building are permanent headquarters layout in a 70 foot baggage car in Grapevine, Texas. I see on your web site that the Austin Tinplate Trackers are planning to attend the LCCA convention in Grapevine next month.

If your group is interested in visiting our unique layout while at the convention, we would love to have you in to see it. The layout is just getting started, but you can take advantage of the opportunity to meet some of out members and see the inside of a historic heavyweight baggage car. Many of you may be visiting the Grapevine rail yard area as part of the convention activities so it would be an easy addition to other planned activities on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad or while seeing the turntable and train shed.

Our baggage car is set in the parking lot next to the turntable and is coupled to a static steam engine. We are very hard to miss.

Please let me know if your group would be interested in a visit and we will work out a time. Most of out members will be involved in the LCCA activities as well, so we will look forward to meeting your group at the convention activities.

This should be a very exciting convention for all of us who are involved in the model railroad hobby.

Sincerely,

Mike McLintock
