Kent, the guy who put on the show told me that the dates will easily peel off. So, we can use the signs without dates or have new dates and info added using the same process.
I think it was a really fun event. Something totally different than the usual shows we attend. Real trains, lots of railroad history in the totally excellently restored depot, vintage cars, good music, free food and a good sized crowd made up mostly of the fine folks of Hearne and Robertson County. They seemed to really enjoy the layout. For a small layout I thought it was really effective.

I had a great time, and so did my wife, daughter and mother in law. That was a much bigger and better event than I had anticipated. And Free Food to boot!!! I love me some local sausages!!!
Does the new signage obligate us to have an event every April 9th so we can reuse them?

We had a good time running trains in Hearne on Saturday. Layout was rather small ( 0 by 2 ) but was not bad at all. Had many visitors to watch our trains and talk with us. The museum has been beautifully redone and has some interesting pictures and artifacts. The Chamber of Commerce was very pleased with what we did and expressed an interest in having us come down again for other events they are planning. If you like seeing the real trains, they have a lot of them go by all day long. The GATX Tank Car facility was interesting to see as well. Would be nice to have a tour of that one. At the end of the day, they gave us the two signs that they were using to advertise that our club would be there. See attached.
