Re: question for tin plate trackers

We had two members offer to let us use there 4 X 6 so if that is large enough, we should be OK.  I will keep notes and see if we can put something together.

Thanks,

David

We have done this b/4 with the old green board layout.  It started back in the Jim Smiley days....as I remember Scott, Ira, Jim and myself participated.....sorry if I missed some names.  Many 'guests' both male and female sat and watched memories from there past.  It was probably more meaningful to us after  the event then the folks at the meeting.

It was easy then with the 4x8 layout with track on it.  Only hard part was getting the board there which Scott handled.  I imagine we'd be on the floor now.  I believe they meet on Tuesdays all year or most of the year so picking a date in the future whould not be a problem.

Some retired HOTGG members are considering doing this at N.C.

One of Debbie's close friends is Diane Herrington....wife of Ronnie Herrington who is a HOTGG member.

Since they are always looking for activities for their guests to view or participate in, there wouldn't be any problem with both groups participating...probably at different times.  To much action at once might be overkill.

Hi David,
I can be available on a Tuesday, I am trying to make it to the TCA show in April in York, that is the only thing on my radar. I will check to see what days that show is.

Hey Trackers,

See the email below.  Is there anyone in the club that could help out with doing the event that is requested?  It has not been scheduled, but wanted to get a feel from the club about doing it because it is on a Tuesday and most of us have to work.  At the board meeting, we talked about taking a 4 x 6 or 4 x 8 layout that were offered by club members if we were to do it.  Let us know so we can contact Deborah and let her know.

Thanks,

David

Hi,

I am the director of a respite program for people with Alzheimer's disease. We would love to have a group come in and set up model trains so that we could see and reminisce with the group about their memories of trains. We have a budget and would be able to pay someone $100 to do this. I know that's not a lot for your time. This is a very active, lively group and I know that they'd get a lot out of seeing the trains in action.

Our group meets every Tuesday from 9:30 am until 1:30 pm at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church. "The Gathering" is a non-profit group which provides free day care to people with Alzheimer's disease who are still living at home with family members. It is open to anyone in the community.

Could you please let me know if anyone in your group might be able to do this, and if not, could you refer me to another group that might?

Thank you!

Deborah Wilder
